Njegova arhitektura vsebuje mnoge elemente \u0161e iz 12.stoletja in vse do dana\u0161njih. V srednjem veku je mesto postalo sede\u017e grofije Dreux, ki jo je dobil v fevd peti sin francoskega kralja Ludvika 6., Robert. Njegovi potomci so ohranili fevd do leta 1355. JV od mesta je bila decembra 1562 prva bitka v vojni med katoli\u0161ko ligo in hugenoti. V osmi bitki leta 1590 je bilo mesto ponovno oblegano. Skozi stoletja so francoski kralji grofijo ve\u010dkrat prepustili stranskim linijam dinastije (kot dedi\u0161\u010dino ali doto) in nato je po izumrtju le-teh (ve\u010dkrat) pri\u0161la nazaj k aktualnemu kralju. Nekaj \u010dasa je bil last turinske dinastije Carignano in kasneje tudi vojvod Penthievre. \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Glavne mestne znamenitosti so:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cerkev sv. Petra<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cerkev sv. Petra v mestu Dreux je bila zgrajena v za\u010detku 13.stoletja so\u010dasno s katerdralo v\u00a0Chartresu\u00a0, s katero ima tudi mnoge podobnosti. Ko je angle\u0161ki kralj Henrik V. obleganjel mesto leta 1421 je bila v veliki meri uni\u010dena. Ponovno so jo za\u010deli dograjevati od 1474 dalje. Leta 1524 so povzdignili fasado v renesan\u010dnem stilu in dogradili severni stolp leta 1576, medtem ko zvonik ni bil nikoli dokon\u010dan. Kot mestna hi\u0161a je simbol mestnih pravic, ki jih je me\u0161\u010danom dal kralj Ludvik VI. v 12. stoletju.<br>Prvi je bil lesen, tak kot ga vidimo danes je bil zgrajen po na\u010drtih istega arhitekta, ki je planiral tudi cerkev. Na vseh obmo\u010djih, kjer je veliko gozdov, so bile zna\u010dilne hi\u0161e, ki so imele lesene fasade zapolnjene z opekami in mavcem. Z nameno zmanj\u0161evanja nevarnosti po\u017eara so leta 1667 so izdali odlok, ki je zahteval, da pokrijejo take fasade z mavcem in so ostali lahko le leseni opa\u017ei, preostali deli so pa
